    Tracker fuel tank

Does anyone know an easy way to remove the fuel pickup tube from a 2004 tracker pro team 175? Still trying to track down my fuel issue, and the only thing i have not been able to check is the fuel pickup because the boat has a plastic tank, and when i try to unscrew the elbow the whole tank flex's. If i can not get it removed is it possible to just install a new pick up tube? The primer bulb stays collapsed now, and i have replaced everything from the pickup tube to the carbs.

    You replaced the siphon valve?

If you take it off. And can get air to flow into the tank ( bubbles) in the fuel, I would not mess with it. It is a cut in threads when installing it. I got mine out after I took the tank out. The pickup tube is glued on to the fitting. Buy filling the tank to the top. Then blowing air into it. If there is air bubbles coming from the top of that fitting in the tank. Then you would loose prime. But your bulb is sucking flat. So the screen at the bottom of the tube could be clogged. That was my problem.

So blow low air in to unclog it. Run it a see if it re-clogs.

You can take the gauge sensor float valve out. And if you’re really talented you will be able to see the bottom of the pick up tube through that little hole. Are used a bore scope camera.

So the siphon valve doesn’t leak down. And your drawing fuel though to the water separator filter.

No, it does not leak down. I can pump the primer bulb, at first it takes a little bit for the bulb to expand but it does, after running across the lake the motor starts to die, but when i pump the bulb it stays collapsed.

Have you done anything to the VST tank? You may need a valve sit and needle could be sticking.

You have a blockage somewhere. The pressure switch on the VST could be stuck to.

Try leaving the fuel cap to the tank open. Then run the motor on muffs. If the tank is not collapsing in with the bulb. Then your breather valve on the cap or the tube from it to the tank. Can be clogged.

It’s the fuel pressure tank on the side of the motor that the high pressure pump is in. That is if it’s the 4 stroke. Disregard if it’s a carb motor. Ok I see you do have a carb motor.

Tried that today on the lake, opened the gas cap to see if that would help, it did not. I really think my problem lies with the pick up. But the genius engineers at tracker made it damn near impossible to check. I have pulled the fuel gauge sending unit, but since it is so far forward i can get a good angle to see down in the tank. I have thought about getring one of the cheap usb inspection cameras from amazon to look in the tank, but it is half full, and sticking something electrical inside the tank does not seem like a great idea.

Something is not letting the tank breathe. Either the siphon valve is be pulled closed ( weak spring) or the breathing tube on the gas tank is clogged.that would be my guess
