    FYI E-Z Slide Warning

I need to change the direction of this post. My real issue with the E-Z slides isn't that the boat would slide off the trailer, I've always left the bow strap hooked to the boat at least until the rear of the boat is in the water. This particular trip was the exception when that strap at the strap latch to the bow eye of the boat broke. It's that the Slides were taking off the gel-coat. After making contact with a boat hull specialist I found the weight recommendations of the E-Z Slides may have been surpassed in my case. If and when installing these Trailer slide parts BE SURE you check and observe the MAXIMUM weight of the boat on the trailer. Thanks for calling my attention to this important fact.

BassinBilly boat's in the shop now looking to get the hull's gel-coat and a couple areas where fiberglass needs some fix'in. Those damaged areas from the E-Z Slides are, if you can imagine, right in the areas where the lower trailer bunks come in contact with the boat hull. The effected areas are close to the length of the bunks 6-7 foot long at 2-3 inches wide.

What boat do you have? IIRC, there are weight limits on the EZ-Slides, but I'm not sure what the numbers are.
