Oil alarm wnet off 2003 Merc 225 EFI

I have a 2003 Mercury 225 EFI. after fishing for 3 days with engine running strong, I was out running the boat and the oil alarm went off. I shut off engine and checked oil tank and reserve tank and both were 3/4 fill. Smart craft showed 79% in reserve, left drove in slow and engine ran fine. Is this a false alarm or is something wrong.
    Thank You

If the reserve tank (engine mounted) is 3/4 full you have a problem. Your visual reference and Smartcraft reading match. The reserve tank should be 100% full, no air at all, at all times.
