    Seats in 389t

So I understand the gas tank is behind and below seats in an "L" shape. How far can you screw into the boat either in the back or below the seat before you would pierce the gas tank?

There's only a thin fiberglass "cover" between the seats and gas tank. Be careful not to use screws that are too long. You can take the screws out of that fiberglass cover to see how much space you have, or just be careful and make sure you attach the new seats at the same place as the old ones and make sure the screws aren't longer than the old ones.

Does the gas tank "L" under the seats as well?

Believe so, common feature on the Stinson-designed hulls, the gas tank forward design increases the speed potential, still see it with Triton today probably due to Gary Clouses early involvement with starting that brand, (not sure if Phoenix has tanks under the seats as well). Tradeoff is its a pain to pull the tank if you have to (some models you have to pull the top cap off to get the tank out), and tank forward design can lead to a gas smell in your rod lockers as well
