I've posted several times trying to get rid of vertical lines (interference) when my Ultrex foot pedal or remote is engaged..Anyone used ferrite rings/ chokes to eliminate problem???

I had to use a ring to get rid of the interference on my fortrex. Kept it when I switched to ultrex. No interference.

Your Ultrex already has ferrite rings installed.

Some have had success with ferrite ring/s on the transducer cable near the sonar unit to help with RFI issues.

The ferrite mix should match the frequency that is affected.

Are you using the US2 puck or another one? I had a ton of interference with the US2 until I tightened the adapter cables properly and then wrapped them in electrical tape. Can't say it'll work for you but it did for me.

Where can we find which mix is needed for a particular unit ? having some issues with a Terrova/Helix 10 SI on bow (not Chirp ) Its only a certain depths.

Just proves I don't know my RFI/EMI from my Baluns/Ununs
Looked like a monkey trying to do a math problem.

I made a serious effort to figure out which one might work.. even got to a place that showed which mix was best for certain Mhz.. Thought ok I GOT THIS ____ until I looked on my box and its given in kHz -- I might as well try to teach my puppy French.

It is RF interference between the frequency of the depth finder and the control board of the trolling motor. The ferrite ring on the transducer cable has worked me on some of the humminbird / minnkota combinations. Humminbird can get you the correct ring.

This is the link to my experience and ultimate solution to my interference problem with my Ultrex/Helix combination. Reply #10 has a link to the ferrite ring that I believe did the trick https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1 ...even though I did several other "fixes" at the same time.

The brand of sonar unit is irrelevant, RFI affects the frequency/s that the unit uses.
