    Jigs in the fall

I don't fish a lot in the fall but I am thinking of fishing through October this year. Do any of you guys fish jigs through the fall or do you switch over to just moving baits. I just don't know know how actively the bass are looking for crayfish this time of year.

You can catch fish on a jig 365 days a year. Some days another bait will work better

I throw a football jig on Geneva a lot in the fall. I'm just not into the cheater rig and A-rig that much. That also being said, I get my ass handed to me by the A-rig guys some days in the fall.

Other days when you get clouds and breeze, it's tough to not throw a wart, jerk, or spinner bait.

Today I'd be launching the 1oz football jig on breaks with bait balls and finding out if they want it dragged or stroked. As the front comes in, hit flats with moving baits.

Favorite time of year to throw a Jig is fall...its a bulky presentation for fish looking to "beef up" for winter....in my opinion a jig doesn't only imitate crayfish but also lots of baitfish (including small panfish).

Definitely swim jigs... I just haven't had the confidence to fish footballs which is my staple in spring/summer. Got this one yesterday.

That looks fun. Are you fishing in Illinois or Wi and where? I want to catch some smallies yet too.
