Most of what you described falls on the dealer. The cover not being there is obviously Ranger's fault, but even then your dealer should have noticed that and been on it already for you. The joys of buying a new boat.

I agree 100% Earl, I have been in the boat business for a long period of time, every boat I ever sold left our shop looking clean inside out and most of the time the way it was ordered. There were times when things didn't go as smooth as it should but we tried our best to make the customer happy in the end. I do hope you enjoy your new boat.Originally Posted by RangerEarl
There seem to be issues going on with the Ranger cover shop. I bought my boat in June-it originally had a “seat in” cover, so the dealer ordered a flat cover for me. The order got lost at Ranger and it wasn’t until numerous follow ups by the dealer that I finally got the cover 3 weeks ago. Unfortunately the one they shipped was for the wrong model. No different than the big truck industry. Trucks are shipped in from the factory filthy, missing parts on occasion, scratches on occasion. Dealers are paid by the factory to be the 2nd set of eyes before the customer takes delivery by performing driveway inspections, pre-delivery inspections, corrections etc... Things happen in transport like flying debris from the roadway, theft, damage on and on. Did your dealer forget to order the cover? Even if Ranger forgot it, why’d you take delivery of an incomplete, scratched & filthy rig?
Get a Phoenix :-)
