    monofilament

Which brand monofilament do you recommend? I've been using P-Line, and while it is very tough, it is also hard to cast.

Really like the Sunline Super Natural Mono. Not expensive. Very low diameter.

Have some original Stren on a topwater rod I was suing yesterday, still works great. I also like that Sunline Natural, handles and casts nice.

I like Trilene XL, but I have an old 2000 yard spool of Trilene Pro Max 20 pound which I use on my baitcasters, it's great, (but obsolete).

    Spinning or casting?

I use P-Line CXX on my casting rods. You have to go down a couple of sizes with CXX. For instance, typically, 14 lb mono is 0.35mm. 10 lb CXX is 0.35mm. Once you adjust for diameters, I find it casts fine.

For spinning, I use Original Stren.
