    Seat conversion

Hey all, I just completed changing my bench seat in my 2002 205vs and it came out pretty good !! So, I thought I'd share in case anyone else has considered doing it too.

This is what I started with

I removed them and found this !! Not what I was expecting. I thought there would be a platform that the seats set on, OOPS, wrong !!

SO, I cut a piece of 3/4" finished plywood (NOT OSB ) and screwed it down on the sides. Had to make a cut-out to go around the filler spout.

Covered the plywood with some left over Linoleum (from my kitchen remodel) to make it waterproof !

The seats were out of a 519 Inter coastal and were all white. I had the insert and head rests done to match (well, close enough) to the carpet

Had to add another 3/4" to the rear to adjust for difference in the angle of the seat base, cut 4--6"x3"x1/8" strap to hold the front down to base, cut a piece of Plywood and covered it to make a back for between the seats and now looks like this...

Also added the New style rear Fold Down Seat and front Butt Seat to match !!

    TaDa !!

Now I have to decide either to leave it like this or get/make a coin box step. But for now, I'm gooooood !!

Nice. Is the wood backrest also linoleum? How's it holding up?

Yes it is. I used it to cover the base and back for the seat conversion and also made a step for getting onto the front deck..
