    1.75 gears

So I have had the boat out maybe 6-7 times since swapping out the 1.62's for 1.75's. A few fun trips and a couple of tournaments. Bassport 2 seater w/300xs

All of my seat time with the new gears has been in miserable hot humid weather.

Disclaimer: I fish almost entirely lake Lanier. An absolute zoo with very few long runs. All spot fishing and jumping from area to area all day.

All I can say is wow. Why did I wait so long. Changed my entire impression of the hull. I have settled on a 27 ProMax for the summer fishing prop. Great hole shot and acceleration and I always loved the way the promax's drive in my boat. Man I don't miss the 1.62's at all. I am sure if I fished really big lakes and rivers with long runs, I could see the 1.62's being a benefit, but only in that situation could I imagine someone preferring the taller gears.

Will probably bolt on the 28 ProMax for winter. We will see.

when I get in some water I can run, I will give some numbers, but plenty of topend for me (comfortable 80's plus nimble and super responsive) for how we are fishing.

I have recently run a 28 promax and a 30 promax with 1.75 gears and a 250. Surprisingly I like the holeshot of the 30 better as there is less over rev...

The 28 with the 250 is banging the limiter at 85/86 and the 30 runs 88/89 pretty easily and I've seen 90.5 with it. Kinda would like to see what a 32 will do..... although I am kinda leaning towards a lightweight flywheel next to see if I can get a little more punch with the 30.... but if you arnt trying to run 100.... 1.75 are the gears of choice in my opinion as well.

I know my Prosport did with a 250 and 1.75's did 87.2 with 700 - 750 pounds of people and not at the limiter with a 28 Promax...

Not all props are equal. I probably made 40 passes with the prop and hit the limiter at least 10 times so who knows. I did keep it A little lower (3/8" instead of 1/2" above) than Normal to try and keep it off the limiter to no avail

    30 promax at 90 is about 6100

If you ran 87 with 3-4 people in the boat with a 28 p prop and 1.75 gears that dosent sound green.

I have been a smooth 83 by myself alone with an empty boat without a trolling motor... dipping to the right.... unbalanced as can be....

Do you think it's possible he had the 30P on? That prop would be in the meat of the powerband and tote that load that speed better than the 28? 28 is already past peak power in the low 80s.

Not possible since I didn't get the 30 till 6 months or more later. Robbie has since B&B t hat 28 tho and didn't mention anything odd about it.. That was also done with the Ulterra on as well.

250HP, 1.75 gears and a very special borrowed prop. My opinion is unless you want to run 95+ 1.75 gears are the way to go
