Hey guys going to play with my jackplate tomorrow any tricks or tips to lowering or raising it? I figured it's pretty straight foward but when has something very simple become difficult lol thanks.

You want the motor about vertical, if you have some one wiggle the thing forward and back by grabbing the cavitation plate and lifting 1" dropping lifting an inch repeeeeeeeet. You won't lift it an inch just saying. This keeps it from binding. If your alone turn the screw some then do this then turn screw.

Id say its according to which jackplate you have before you take any advice
xpress x19, 200ho G2, aluminum sawtooth cut prop, paper sack tackle storage, ugly stik pro team, color c-lector
Well it was very simple bolt in the top that raises it is snapped, can you just change out that bolt or does the whole jackplate need to be replaced
Not 100% sure on the brand but it looks like most of the manuel jack plates, 4 bolts on the side you loosen one on top to move it up and down. Yes it looks like it was broke I haven't messed with it in awhile. Other question is this a hazard or does it need to be fixed or replaced before taken back out?
Put a piece of 4x4 wood under the skeg and trim motor down to "lift" just a tiny bit to remove the bind off of jp and then raise as needed....as it goes up, repeat again.....

That would be one delicate skeg!
That’s similar to what I did when I adjusted my Slidemaster. I lowered the motor to vertical, slide the 2x4 under the skeg, and then used the trailer jack to lift on the motor just slightly. Crank it until you get some resistance, turn the JP bolt to adjust upward, crank the jack some more, repeat until you get the position you want.
Doesn’t take much pressure at all.

I tried the block of wood thing. Found it much faster to wiggle it

Stainless steel is more susceptible to galling than ferrous metal.
I suggest always lubricating the screwjack threads before adjusting height.
I also spray lube the locking bolts , washers and the joint between the plate sections.
In other words I lube all moving parts before adjusting to prevent problems, and have never had any issues in 25 years on multiple jackplates.

I'm not sure about replacing the adjustment bolt but the motor won't fall it is held by the four outside bolts. I would have to see it but if the top bolt is very long depending on where it broke clearance to the motor might be a issue.
Might look under the plate. Some of the CMC power lifts have the adjusting nut on the bottom of the plate.
Make sure skeg is close to 90degrees before locking it down. Had to jack one side of mine up to level it out.
