    Mille Lacs Boat launches

Staying at McQuoids next week and wondering what the best launches are on the south end? Is the launch in Malone creek/Isle usable for a 20ft bass boat?

The launch next to McQuoids (Malone Creek) is just fine for a 20 ft bass boat. You'll have no issues.

B careful up there if your not familiar with the the lake. They pulled the channel and hazard buoys right after AOY so it can get a little hairy if your not paying attention to your maps.

Are there a lot of hazards? Looking at the map it looks like the hazards are more or less limited to the southeast corner of the lake.

There are quite a few hazards depending what part of the lake you're on!

An updated map chip is your best bet. Both Navionics and Lakemaster are quite accurate now. At the minimum, buy the Navionics app on your phone or tablet! Its cheap and would be the same as you see on the link above.

I second the advice on getting a card and/or the Navionics App. Pay special attention to any Community Edits that are available for the area, as often they have updated info on hazards.

If you have an old mapping card (any brand) you can get a Navionics Updates card for $99 and same some $$. It is essentially the same as Navionics+ once it is activated. Good luck!
