    Cleaning Pontoons - Need Advice

Pulling the pontoon boat next week and need to clean the lake scum off the pontoons. It will be on the trailer, so looking for something that won't destroy the carpeted bunks (if possible).
I've been looking at using Toon-brite cleaner, power washing it off, and then following up with the polish.
    Any better suggestions.

I use White Lightnin from NAPA. Put it on with a gallon sprayer and no need to scrub. Only thing is that it will leave them a dull finish instead of shiny, but its the best stuff I've found to clean them toons. You'll be amazed.

Dealers on, or near the lake, want $14.00 per foot for an acid wash. It's a ripoff IMHO. That's why I'm considering doing it myself on the trialer if that's a safe and viable option.

None so far for me, but it will kill your grass.

Many use NAPA metal brightener--an acid wash substance. It is spray on and nose off in 5 minutes. Some will first use a power washer on it.

Then polish with a dual action polisher with a wool bonnet and White Diamond Metal Polish.

Yeah, it’s a money maker for the dealers for sure. Going to try it myself and see if the savings is worth it.
