I have the tss on my boat for my 3D you can still do your coin trick to find level at idle speeds then drill new holes in the tss to meet the angle you need that's what I did I have no issues

My total scan is mounted on my hole shot plate with the factory bracket. It is in the center of the boat as I use my SI a lot. Mine is adjusted to the level of the boat when scanning at a low speed as SI/DI is useless on plane. I've never had a problem with mine. The only TSS I use is for my trolling motor.
