Thumbs Up Finally got LUCKY in a raffle......

Like others, i just never have luck with winning anything, whether its raffles, office drawings, etc.....my luck changed this weekend....a local Knights of Columbus chapter was selling tickets for a month long gun raffle....only 1000 tickets sold and a drawing every day for the month of October.....got a call Sunday that my number was drawn for Friday's drawing and i won a
Browning A-Bolt 7mm-08 rifle.....got to go by this week, get background check and pick up it up....BUT since i dont hunt i'll sell it and go buy a pistol or two....already have a 270 that i dont use but will keep.....
YOU are not entitled to what I have earned!!!!!

Congrats! Historically, I hardly ever won anything in a drawing. I did win a Ranger cooler at a Product Knowledge Tour back in the early 90's and then about 10 years ago at a dinner that included a lot of raffles, I won a "Outdoorsman's" package that included a bunch of tackle and a muzzleloader. Since I don't hunt, I had the muzzle sold before I got back to my seat. And, last winter, I won a couple hundred in a couple drawings in the poker room at my local casino.

Our tournament trail gives away two $50 prizes at the end of each weight-in to get folks that aren't getting a check to stick around until the end. My partner and I did not have a great day, so he told me "I'm gonna head home." I said, "Fine, I'm gonna stick around and win $50." I'll be darned if the TD didn't pull our boat number for one of the $50 envelopes! Of course, I gave my partner his half the next time I saw him. At the next tournament, my partner said he was leaving early and I again told him I was going to stick around and win $50. The TD gave away one of the $50 envelopes and kept pulling numbers for the second one, but those guys had already left. After about 3 or 4 time at not giving away the second $50 envelope, I quietly said, "Come on Mike, you know you're going to pull boat #4!" I'll be darned if he didn't pull our boat number on the next try!" The guy standing beside me says out loud, pointing to me, "He called it! He called it!" Of course, I again gave my partner his half! But told him, next time, stick around or I'm keeping it all for myself!

Maybe as I get older, my luck is changing!
