    99 Evinrude ficht.

    Guys,
I have a 99 Evinrude ficht motor that has started sounding the Check engine alarm. I was running down the lake on a windy really rough day. I got airborne and as soon as I touched down that alarm started to sound. My first thought is water pump. I changed the water/fuel separator also. I took it back out, and took it easy. After running for a short time the alarm sounded again, but after about 10 seconds it went out and the light went out. Anything else I may need to consider or change? Thanks

First thing I would do is reseat the cable at the gauge, while the cable is off spray some contact cleaner on the pins and the back of the gauge. If it continues you'll need to connect to the motor with EVdiags and see what the check code is.

Check with your dealer for availability. I've heard of versions on Ebay that come from Europe.

Fuel starve... check your fuel lines..
Specially if is a gray Mercury fuel line...
The inner wall peeling off and clock the whole fuel filter and the lines...
    Happened the same with me.
