Wanna get rid of "Wood Grain" panels.

I'm sure this question has been asked several times, but don't have the time to research it.. So, can a sandblaster be used to remove the wood-grain off the panels if I'm going to paint them with automotive paint? or dip them?

    Thanks..

I removed the panels, scuffed them with scotch bright and painted them with a rattle can with paint meant for plastic I bought at Walmart. Been on there for 9 years now without an issue pealing.
