Up the Creek Without a Paddle

Back in the day, a bass boat came with a paddle. My 1994 Stratos, and 1999 Champion both came with one that is "clipped" in place.

Did any of you guys get a paddle with your boat, or have you added one to it?
I think it's even a law to have one in some states (maybe even mine).
I never even gave it a thought till now.

    Input please???

I think having a paddle onboard was once or maybe still is required by some state boating laws.

I keep one in my boat at all times. Get the boat hung up on a stump and I can push off. Or any number of ways it comes in handy.
It didn't come with the boat though.

I have one, it came with the first used boat I ever bought.

I wrote on the handle, one side says "Last resort" and the other side says "Still better than work"

Havent needed it yet but if I ever do I want to be reminded that things still arent bad

I have a small one. Didn't have one for a long time but it's always bugged me that I didn't. Finally picked one up for that worst case scenario

I always carry one and have used it a few times to get off of stumps and whatnot. Buy one and throw it in the rod locker. You'll be glad you did.

I believe if state (that its sold in) law requires a paddle a new boat must have one, wasn't going to comment that but I really like the "last resort, still better than work" paddle

New boat don't come with one. You are right most places they are required by law. The one show in the post laposta28 is what I have. They fit in the rear compartment of my bird with no problem.

My new one did not come with one but kept my old one. Had a Bass Boat since 1992 have had 2 lucky to not have to use except to push off stumps or shallow sand bar. Only reason I got a new one was because the old one finally broke apart. I buy a short one that fits in the back with the batteries lays down on top of the batteries. Always there if needed by me and satisfies the law as well.

Bought one from wally world when I got the boat. Grew up with my dad always buying junk and learned back then to be prepared for breakdowns
