Is there supposed to be a cap or cover in the large hole where the Us2 cable exits the bottom of the head right behind the main power cable? There is a large hole there that seems like it should be covered to prevent water and/or debris from getting to the wiring.

Yes, there is cap that pops in place. The Link has a hole large enough for the ethernet cable and the US2, The standard just for the US2. There "jar" loose during shipping from time to time. If yours is missing, a phone call to MinnKota with the serial number will get you one in the mail on the way.

John, my dealership replaced my Ultrex on 8/29 with the newer version, that cap wasn't included in the box. They called about it and was told that several of the new ones went out without the cap. I just got my cap today so I guess they're just now sending them out. 3 weeks but everything works flawlessly so far.

I've lost that cap on both my motors. I used a large piece of foam jammed in there now. The cap was falling out too often.
