Which is your favorite vegetation to fish?

Obviously, most lakes in Florida are filled with a variety of native and non-native vegetation.

I assume that some types of vegetation are good all year while others are more seasonal.

What has produced best for you in certain seasons and which types of vegetation are you more likely to pass up....and why?

    1) Bullrushes, Pencil Reeds...whatever they're called.
    2) Kissimmee Grass
    3) Pads
    4) Matted Hyacinth

I hate fishing hydrilla, I won't even bother.

Good topic and wish I knew more about it. I just go with the Bizarre Foods mantra, "If it looks good, 'fish' it."

That said, I prefer pads and grass lines (again no idea which variety), and like above avoid hydrilla.

Me to except thick Kissimmee grass goes to the top of the list with matted Hyacinth second. However, I will fish Hydrilla even though I suck at it.

My favorite is Kissimmee grass with open pockets between it and the shoreline.

As most in fishing, "it depends"...even week to week...
BUT a good mix of veggies YOU can confidently attack due to experience with certain baits is the real deal...
being very partial to 5 inch plastic swimsuits I look for "casting alleys", irregular veggie edges and "other" factors...

A good hard edge of green matted hydrilla in 3'-5' of water when it's freezing cold outside right before the spawn
