Trailer Brake Problem not seen very often

Recently, when I arrived at a launch, I noticed a brake smell and heat coming from one of my wheels. I have an 07 Ranger Z20 on a rangertrail trailer with tandem axles and brakes on all four. Arriving home, I jacked her up and spun the wheel on the right front and it made a clunking sound. Removing the tire to inspect the brakes all seemed in order. The caliper was not stuck, the pads were in good order, the rotor was not gouged nor did it appear to have been overheated. As I went to remove the caliper I noticed it was loose but it was not the caliper bolts. It was the caliper mounting plate that is secured to the axle by four bolts. When these bolts loosen, they allow the caliper to twist and heat. Please check these bolts on your trailer for tightness before you have problems.
