Does anyone know if there is a way to change to size of the boat cursor or change the cursor altogether on the GPS screen? I am not a fan of how big it seems to be in proportion to the map.

It's under Menu - presentation, I believe. Get the choice of large or small.

Let me now if you find it. I'm in CA for work and can't remember the exact location to change it.
Tap-hold on the boat icon itself, and you'll get some options
Touch the boat icon in the Chart application, to get the blue popup menu.
The boat symbol can be changed to one of the following types:
- large icon
- Small icon
- Outline (where the boat shape is semi-transparent)
- Teardrop (small black boat outline)
Sounds like Outline would be the best bet for you.
If you want to change what type of boat is shown, go to the Homescreen/Settings and select one of the options in the BOAT DETAILS tab.
