Strange how some folks in the medical field make the worst patients. I've seen it firsthand, and it's really frustrating to those who care about them. I also understand how BBCers are frustrated with how your situation continues to evolve. Majority feels your wife needs immediate medical attention, but it isn't getting done. I know when I read your original post, MY blood pressure rose, and my anxiety level went way up......and I don't even know you! It's nerve racking reading this thread from lastnight, to this morning, and still no word on if your wife is REALLY ok or not. I think all of us want the best for her and you.

Good luck, and keep us updated.

Trust me. You can get some of the questions answered (short of lab tests that have to be sent to lab) by going to work if you're a nurse. Quick peak with the 5 lead or if someone's bored a 12 lead. Automated BP readings. And a doc that can do a quick exam. All without an ER visit. Diagnostics would require legal documentation.
My largest concern was the mean arterial pressure not high enough to keep a pre renal episode from happening.

Except for the fact that this particular nurse thinks she's fine and doesn't need to be checked out.

When she goes to work as she did. She'll probably get hooked up to the monitor. And the EKG tech that hangs out in surgery holding will probably do a 12 lead. Doesn't belay the fact that she needs some labs done along with a thyroid panel. I would be willing to guess that one of the anesthesia docs might order the labs for her.

A doc at the hospital asked her if she had ate anything before her workout..she mentioned that she didnt and he said not eating alot during the day and no preworkout snack will cause the same issue and if it happens again to see a doctor.

No one said she was incompetent ....but we all know how humans in general self diagnose, and more often than not, they do so incorrectly. Ever see Doc Hollywood ? where the old man doctor diagnosed himself as having angina/heart burn, when it was in fact a heart attack that needed immediate care ?

We were fearful it was something like that. I know of more than a few people who, had the people around them did as they wanted, and left them alone, they would not be here breathing today.

We were just concerned about her and her self-diagnosis.

Hope she is fine. Ask her what she would do if you had the same symptoms. If she says ER, YOU KNOW WHAT TO DO if it happens again.

I know. I monitored her and her mother who is an RN came over too. If anything would have changed she would have gotten her butt to the hospital be it in my truck lr ambulance.. i dont like to jump the gun either.

Unless you're leaking....low blood pressure isn't life threatening.

Leaks aren't always readily apparent. What about low blood pressure in sepsis? Ever heard of septic shock? If it gets too low you don't get oxygen or glucose to where it needs to go. That's not a good thing. Aside from all this that can kill you it can kill you other ways. Passing out at the wheel for instance. If the patient is not symptomatic then low blood pressure may not be a concern. However, the numbers we are talking about here in a patient that reports past normal blood pressure readings should be of concern.

Is there anyway that your blood pressure monitor could be off some? I ask this because shouldn't her symptoms be even more severe than they are showing with a BP really that low?

I cant answer that..im sure that it could be. When checking we use a bp cuff and stethoscope.
