    Duckett rods

Anyone have these rods purely and what are your thoughts on these for a serious tournament fisherman. If not these what else are great tournament rods for 200 or less

They are ok, but for sure better options out there. Daiwa tatula series of rods are amazing and my rod of choice right now, both original and elite series. A lot of people love the Hammer rods, which can all be had around and under the 200 price, i would give those a look. Megabass Levante's are pretty good sticks for 200. ALX are also very popular especially on this site, good variety can be had for under to just over 200. All of those off the top of my head will be better than anything duckett has to offer, and i have used them and moved on very quickly from them.

They aren't. My point was it would be better to buy American made rods.

Tatula elites with normal guides are 170-180, the ags guide version is the 250+. That's where the cronos or tatula original lineup come in to get the bigger sticks and not spend 280. Cronos and tatula originals are 170 and under, so between the elites non ags, cronos, and original tatula lineups you could cover everything.

Under $200? Hammer rods are far superior to Duckett.

    Without a doubt, lighter/stronger/better built/more sensitive

If your budget is 200 bucks per rod then Duckett shouldn't even be in the mix. Hammer Rods are awesome as I'm sure several other American made rods are as well. Or just spend about 99 bucks each on the rod of your choice because there are lots of good options in that price range.

Totally agree--there are several good American rod companies that make very good rods in the $200 range--Falcon Lowrider series is a rod that I have several of and would recommend. Also I have several Kistler Mag series2 rods which are American made that I am very happy with. I have never used Duckett so I can not comment either way but a $200 limit leaves a large American field of rods to look at. Have not handled any Hammer rods but read nothing but good reviews about them so the field is pretty big for choosing an American rod under $200. I also have several Falcon Cara series rods that very good rods but they are slightly over the $200 limit. just plenty of choices out there

The Genesis II rods are fantastic rods. I own several and they have served me well so far.

Any negatives about them I've heard they are a little stiff and heavy.
