I have a 2008 Ranger Trailer and not sure if I need the 2"-5/16's or the 2" Coupler Lock, boats sits outside and I just need a little better locking system to put on it.

Should be a 2" coupler and ball.

Check your hitch ball it should have the size stamped on it.
Pretty sure it is 2" but as 11 pounder stated it should be stamped on your hitch ball. Not sure what or why the thumbs down symbol above my post is all about or why it is there
That's not what he's asking about. He is asking about a lock that prevents the coupler from being removed from the ball so that the trailer can't easily be stolen. Some couplers use a short lock as they have the little lever on top. The UFP A-60 uses a longer locking pin as it has to go all the way through the coupler and come out the locking pin on the other side... I'd suspect 2 5/16" is the right answer. Only issue I have had is that these things bend somehow when towing.

I've always just used a regular master lock on one side.

I have this one on 02' Ranger trail. Same key for both locks is convenient. It is the longer one I believe 2.5"
correction above is 3-3/8" span for the coupler with the surge brake actuator.
