Any suggestions? No start at tournament

    Model E225DHLSCM
    Ser # 05209034
    2008 E-Tec
Boat will turn over, but not start. The other day found cable from battery to starter nut loose and tightened it up. Running great when it started. Checked kill switch. Battery sounds like it is dying, but brand new and fully charged.
Son has boat at BASS 2 Day Tx
I am not there. Any suggestions?

If it turns over slow, and you're SURE the battery is good and fully charged, then clean the cable connections, particularly the one that was loose. It could have been arching and burnt the connection.

Motor would not attempt to spin over if the switch wasn't in correct position.
Jim did he mention any check codes? He may have gotten excited and hit the hot foot while trying to start. That would give a throttle position incorrect and could cause a no start issue.

Fred, it has kinda slowly gotten worse...thought it might be battery going so I replaced it. Graphs were dimming or went off when starting. Motor sounded like battery dying when trying to start. Beep was weak and motor not spinning as usual. Same thing was happening, but now worse, obviously. Starter drawing too many amps? Maybe?

Bad cables or connections (any one of them, both at the battery and on the motor), or the starter.

The boat is not here, but the negative and positive cables should be the ones closest to the battery posts (on the bottom), right?

They should be, and need to be clean and tight, as well as the connections at the motor.
Gradually and consistently getting worse over time would have me leaning toward the starter, but check the easy stuff first.

Put a voltmeter on the starter post and the starter frame and have someone crank the motor over and note the voltage. If below 10 volts, check cables, connection and battery. To check battery, put voltmeter on the posts (not the cables) and crank over motor. If less than 10 volts, it is weak or not charged.
