    206 with 250 proxb setup

Needing advice for setting up a 206. It has a detwiler hydraulic with at least 14" of setback and the knob on the dash. Can only get 60-62 out of it. Anyone else running this boat and motor?

Yes Sir. Something is wrong... The 206 with a strong XB should be in the 74 range. I recently saw one for sale on FB that had that much set-back. First one I've seen that had more than 12" plate. I'd get it checked by a reputable tech asap.

You running the same boat? The motor checks out fine. What prop are you running?

Internet diagnosis is very difficult because you can't see or hear what's going on.

So you start with a known setup and you should be close to known results.

So, what prop are you running?
We get 52 mph but what are your rpms?

Injector service is imperative on these motors. However, if you had one or more that were too far out of tolerance, you would have (most likely) already caused damage. The injector service is a preventative maintenance item. If you say the compression is good, I'd be getting a leak-down test first. Like Pat said, one step at a time. Another item that is simple is rebuilding the pulse fuel pump. If you ever had the old non-ethanol rated fuel lines and didn't rebuild this, it could be clogged. How long has it been running like this?

    Step one.
Determine if it's setup or engine. We can guess all we want but you gotta start at the beginning.

And you’re getting what now? I ask because I think mine could benefit from a cleaning too.

    Yeah, it's pretty fishy.

Good deal!! Glad you caught it before it caused a lean condition. Were they running too rich and flooding the cylinders? I'd think so, otherwise it would be bad.

In the op he was stating 60-62. 10 on top of that is what he's running now.
