86 mariner magnum 150 stator issues

I am about to change my stator. However, I was wondering if I have a bad stator will the boat not charge the battery?

i have a few more weekends left and I can't get the stator changed till next week.

a bad stator can still have good charging coils and not supply volts to switch boxes

A bad one could also drain your batteries no?

I actually ended up doing a full carb clean with johnson carb clean spray and put the yamalube ring free in the gas. That seemed to fix a lot of the low idle problems.

Also, I did change the stator anyway. Seems to be running perfect now.

Big issue I have is the trim motor has finally quit. Separate thread lol
