    1/2" PVS Holes?

I have a quicksilver trophy that has 4 open PVS holes. They're smaller than the PVS holes in my other props, they're only 1/2". With these open, it seems my RPM's are shooting way too high during hole shot, need to fill a few of these if possible. Here's a couple of photos including the model number. Any ideas?

Tape off outside, fill inside with JB weld/Waterweld/Marinetex.

Remove tape when dry. Try prop with holes closed, if not enough ventilation drill 1/4" holes (in the center of the JB weld, dont think I needed to say that but you never know haha) one at a time til ventilation/rpm is right.

Haha thanks. Is this an older system that plugs don't exist for?

Correct. It's not really a system, just holes that were put in the prop (sometimes from the manufacturer, sometimes after) for more ventilation. PVS was invented so that the holes and therefore amount of ventilation are more easily tunable.

Are all the holes stepped like the second one looks to be? If they are you can get plastic or metal plugs to fill the holes or you can put a cav ring on the prop without any plugs and that will cut down on ventilation.

Dont think that's a step, just reflection from where the metal was polished down.

Cav ring is a good idea though, I run one when I run a trophy on mine and it def cuts down the amount of ventilation a good bit, might not even need to fill the holes. But filling the holes can be done now and cheap. Ring would prob have to be ordered unless you have a well stocked Merc dealer in your area.

I would have Mark Croxton drill out those hole to accept PVS plugs.
