What engine? My '89 PII with a 150 turns an A45 23 Tempest @5900 rpm and 62 mph loaded. I wish I had a 200 on her but it is what it is. Absolutely cannot complain about the boat.
Most of the guys I know of with older PIIs and 200s use a 25 Tempest.

Something is definitely wrong there. I ran faster with a junk 4 blade. A lot of guys recommended a 24 or 25p fury for my boat, I went with a 24p since my motor is only 2.5 liter. I haven't ran it yet so I can't really say much but guys think I shouldn't have much trouble getting high 60s out of it.

What is your prop to pad distance? How was the boat treated before you took over? Is the engine tuned? Is the foam full of water? I'm not judging but there are several things that could be affecting that speed. I will agree with the above poster, you should see mid to high 60s easily and routinely.

I have a 94 p2, just put a 200 hpdi from hydrotec on it with 25p Tempest Plus. Only have 10 hours on it so far but it's a rocket out of the hole and if I could drive it I think it has 72-74 in it. I have had it to 70 gps and still climbing but I am having trouble with chine walking, starts at 67. I set P2P at 3.5" and haven't adjusted anything yet. I ran a 150 prov before the 200 and it would hit 60 with me and a light load. It is sooo much more fun to drive with the 200...
