    Question Mercury Power tune

    Hi,

What is the best way to use mercury power tune on 2001 135hp optimax. Is it possible to run power tune through the fuel system to clean the injectors? I've heard of using it in the cylinder heads by removing the plugs and filling then letting sit over night. Just wondering if you can run it in the fuel supply to clean the injectors.

Please see the Forum Announcements, and be sure to provide the REQUIRED info each time you post. You're likely to see this a few times today.

Powertune is not run through the fuel injectors. Running it through the direct injectors can be risky, too.

Recommended method is in the spark plug openings:

    -Engine warmed up
    -Pull plugs
-Tilt engine all the way up
-Fill plug openings with power tune-foam
    -Reinstall plugs
-Let it sit overnight tilted up.

Next day, start, warmup and run it to see how it does.
