    Anyone with a Z9 or Z21 with 225?

Do anyone have either of the above with a 225 optimax? If so how do they perform do they feel underpowered?
    Thanks, for any info

I have a poor guy who has a 09 or 10 Z9 with a 200 on it...BP ripped him off sold the boat with there "Base" Package motor and the boat can barely hit 60 MPH with just him and takes forever to get on plane and his partner has to lay on the front deck to get on plane. He runs a 23P tempest or fury.

I have a 2008 Z9 with a 250 and a 25P Tempest Plus. I would agree that a Z21 needs a 250 at minimum. With the right prop, it would be better also. My Z9 takes longer than most to get on plane, however I choose to have better top end rather than hole shot. For now, I'll stay with the 25P Tempest, but a Fury is in the future for sure!

I tell ya I don't know a salesman who would not try to up sell the boat. See this alot people want to get into a boat with lesser HP and then they are not happy, even after being told they will not be happy.

+++1 The biggest excuse I see from customers is "I don't want to spend the extra money on a bigger motor because I don't care about top end speed".. No matter how many times you tell them speed isn't the issue, it's getting all that weight out of the hole and on plane, most customers just don't see it. Until they get on the water.

150 hp used to be the tops, there were 20.5' boats with them. Even nitros, not seeing the issue??? Anyways my last boat was a 20'5" 19* deadrise glass walleye boat with 5 batteries two chargers and a 12' talon, the thing popped up on plane and went 56 mph with a 2.5 200 efi mariner on it. Had a 21p mirrage prop on it.
