Hard to beat the Academy Sports deal on Daiwa Tatula Ct ($70) right now, great reel at a exceptional price.

Only 15 teams for the NM championship tomorrow. John, you will need to come down and show me how to fish once my shoulder is ready. I'm on week 11 for rotator cuff surgery. Been off the water for 11 1/2 weeks.
Not surprised at all. Too much money going into the wrong pockets. There will be a series next year with full transparency, 100% payback minus expenses at EB, a spreadsheet with all expenses will be posted on a FB site.
And yes lets going fish some time would love driving your boat
"And yes lets going fish some time would love driving your boat " I'm sure that can be arranged. Let me know about the series your talking about when the time gets closer. I am currently on week 12 of rotator cuff surgery.
Is this new series going to replace the ABA series at the Butte? I s the new series associated with an organization? Just wondering.
Not sure yet, there was talk about turning it into a Federation circuit next year but was going to be left up the the members to decide. There should be a discussion at the Southern Classic between Randell Bell and Craig Southerland of ABA. Not sure what fowlZurk is referring to. I'm hopping to be ready to tourny fish next year, if not I will just fun fish all week during off limits. FYI, went out today and caught 3 nice keepers and 2 shorts, my back seater caught 2 keepers and 7 shorts. This was between 10:30 and 2:30. Water temp was between 74 and 76. We had a great day on the water.
Thanks Dean, I suppose we will hear about it soon enough. Good to hear you guys did good yesterday, I have not been down for almost 2 months (various reasons), heard its been tough lately. Glad to hear you guys got on some. I'll be coming down this weekend to pick up my boat, want to hit a couple of lakes up here before weather turns to bad. Glad to hear your doin better also!!
Sorry guys, talked to R. Bell about a week ago. Apparently Randell and Earl Conway have talked to Jonathan Stewart (BASS) about a team series here in NM, $200 per team, 90% payback, biggest selling point he made was “a chance to make the Classic” I’m not sure about that or how that would even work. 6 tournaments, 4 at EB, 2 at other venues Conchas and Navajo were mentioned in our conversation.
Randell said ABA will be no longer, that’s too say he’s not an ABA tournament director anymore. ABA is likely searching for a replacement director though.
ABA has been here for a lot of years, it has gotten smaller but was fun to fish. I enjoyed the competition even when I didn't do well. I started fishing the ABA in 1987 in California, at least thats the date on the wall Plaque. Sounds like I'll be fun fishing and doing the local club tournaments on Wed's. Not really looking to travel but who knows.
As I heard at the last pre tourn meeting the venue was to be a team event until the nationals (if qualified) then you had to draw a partner. Not sure if the team (2 anglers) just fishes together and weighs there own fish or a regular team event, I didn't ask any questions. If I were to take part in that I guess I would have to be a non boater based on their HP restrictions. Did Randell talk the Craig Southerland and or Dave Plotnick (ABA) as he said he was going to. Time will tell how everything shakes outs.
