    Power Poles draining battery

Recently bought a used boat with 2 PP Blades. Owner said to flip the breaker for the poles while not in use as they will run the main battery down after a bit. Does that sound right? I would think "master switch off, power off". Thanks for any help.

Yes you should have them wired to a battery disconnect, so you can cut positive power to them when not in use.

It is probably not wired through the master switch since they would more than likely over load that switch if everything else was on.

The PP motor lights still blink even with the "master" power switch off. The additional switch is a good thing to have.

Thanks for the replies. Feeling better about my drained battery. Will add the disconnect to my routine.
