    Tachometer pole setting assistance

    1b465109 2007 Pro XS on 2007 Triton TR210

Do any of you fine gentlemen (or ladies) know the correct pole setting for a 250 Pro xs and Beede/Faria gauge like that pictured below. Mine is currently set to "4" but it's around 1000 rpm too low at WOT, (4800 vs 5800 smartcraft)

    Thanks,

    Trevor

I only have 1-8. Would 12 be the 4 rocker and the 8 rocker together?

Thanks tom. I did a poor job of asking the original question. I should have asked what the dip switch settings for a Merc alternator were. Is yours a dial style or dip switch style?

https://fariabeede.com/site_manuals/...s/54790602.pdf This should be the chart for a Beede series 2000 tach I believe Joe54 said they were 12 pole alternators

Thanks. That's what I'm going off of as well I just didn't know if every model # had different settings, mine only has 8 switches instead of 10. With 4 open after switching the switches several times it's about 200 rpm high up until 4500 rpm at which time it pretty much stays at 4700-5000 even when my smartcraft gauge is reading 5800.

It's not a 2000 series tach then, that's what these numbers are for.
