    Bought It! 2003 206 DCX

Moved some things around with the Bogus 210 and got cleared of that. Came across this really clean 2003 206. It was on the Champion FB Page just down the road from me. Had it inspected and went through it thoroughly. Had a good buddy go with me who works fiberglass. One of the cleanest boats I have ever seen. Really nice. I would like to hear some pros and cons coming from the 210 to this 206. I don't think I really got to feel the real potential of the 210 because of the previous damage. Its underpowered right now but I plan on putting a 2007 225 Opti on it. Im gonna trade the current motor off. What can I expect for speed/handling/fish ability and overall performance. I took it out. It the water was completely flat and I didn't run it extremely hard. I do have a chance at a 250 Verado as well. What do you all think. I will post pics from my computer later. It's a pretty big boat. I was surprised. TIA.

Go with the 250hp on the 206 if you can pull it off. Congrats on the new sled. It's a damn nice fishing platform I owned a 2005.

a 225 is still under powered on a 206. My buddy has a 05, 206 with a 225 opti and its a dog. I have the experience of being the driver of it every time he wants to go fishing, so I have hands on experience with my 203/225 opti vs his 206/225 opti.

Other then that, its a awesome boat. Tons of room.

I know the one you bought. It has a 175 on it, correct? Looked like a nice boat, and priced right.

Yeah. It has the 175 VMax on it. It had a 225 Evinrude on it. He found this engine within his price range and put it on. He said he didn't want to but still wanted to fish. That's the engine I'm gonna trade off. Maybe I should go with the 250HP. Lol!

Rode in a bunch of them. It's a Cadillac but night and day difference between a 225 and 250, it really shines with the 250.

I have ridden and fished out of a 206, everything that has been said is spot on, it is not a racy boat but stable, roomy it is but it needs a 250 to make it a down right pleasure and it will out handle anything on Kentucky Lake.
Good Luck, I am driving a 1993 190 DCX and was told two weeks ago in Michigan its beautiful it rides great, I love it.

Beautiful rig. It looks a lot like my 223. Yes, you need a 250 in my opinion. That will put you around 70mph but more importantly will get you out of the hole better with a load. I'm aware of a few with very strong engines and the perfect setup that giddy up around 75. Mine was 71 max under perfect conditions with the HPDI.

IDK what you'll get for it but you should have no problem moving that Yammie - it's in a desirable HP range for a lot of smaller boats and is known to be reliable which should help it sell. Glad you got things figured out.

My '10 206 with a 250 Pro Xs spinning a 25p Trophy plus jumps out of the hole pretty quick and have seen 72 gps @ 5900 rpm, but I prefer to let her cruise around 60-65 and she rides like a Caddy!

I'm really excited guys. It's a big boat. Didn't feel to much different from the 210. I need to find a really nice 250HP. The one I had my eye on sold tonight. It's really clean guys.
