Thanks Lea. I appreciate it very much.

As already mentioned, the 206 is a heavy pig... she needs as much motor and set back and you can give her. I would also experienemt with 4 blade props. My buddy's worked tempest 25 doesn't lift his bow at all... his high 5 prop that came with it, does... so I am guessing a 4 blade would be the perfect all around 206 prop... atleast to start with anyways.
I run an 8" plate. But, Steve at HydroDynamics said the 12" would be the ticket for MY motor. Call him once you decide what to do. An extra mph or two isn't worth it to me right now. 74 all day, any day is plenty for me. I love those colors. Go Cowboys!!

I'd like that, but I think we need to have something like that where there is lodging by the lake. We used to have Texas BBC Rallies, but TX is so big, it was hard to get folks to drive to them. I've attended Toledo Bend (7.5hrs), Lake Fork twice (5.5hrs), Amistad (4hrs) OH Ivie twice (1.5hrs) and Limestone (4hrs). Two I missed were Rayburn & Richland Chambers. So, I'll drive if I have the time off, but a lot of folks just won't do those 5-8hr trips. There are a lot of Champ owners in DFW and SE TX.
Congrats of the new boat. You'll enjoy the 206. Been running my 2001 206 since 2008 and it has been a very good boat.
started with a 225 merc efi and then changed to evinrude 250 ho.
Boat does like a bigger motor.
Couple of things I have found over the years. Full tank of gas+ 2 people+ full livewells makes forever coming out of the hole. Boat is weight sensitive so try to keep the heavy stuff in the back.
10 inch jack plate has worked well. Holeshot plate helps as well.
25 Tempest plus (best I've used so far)
sweet spot on prop height is usually 3 1/4 to 3 3/4 below pad mine is right at 3 1/2.
Hull really comes alive around 50 mph.
70 is the best I've seen.
67 wth 2 people, loaded
I don't outrun too many but when the water gets rough
Beautiful boat.
Thanks a ton. Looking forward to getting her out. Hydrotec is gonna take care of me with a built 250 HPDI. I'm sure it will move that bad boy pretty good. Excited

No flashed ECU for a yam efi, only bolt-ons. Unless you start porting on them.

Collectively the 206 is heavier than the 210? Or is it the design? Pads are different as well and if so what is the difference?

According to my brochures, the 210 hull wt is 2100 lbs, while the 206's is 2000.
Would you happen to have a copy of a 206 Brochure Lea?
2007 Ranger Z22 Yamaha 250 HPDI
The brochures are not for individual models. They only skim lightly with pics and a few specs for all the models for any given year. I hope the seller gave you the owner's manual for that year, tho they are pretty generic, too....
I think he had it in the passenger console. Thanks Lea

Hope so....if not, our gang can answer any questions, but you already know that!
One more thing... does the 206 have all composite? Any wood involved at all. I thought in 2003 that was the first year for the transition. I hope they didn't have any that flow over....
