    Yakkin' Pics (No Fish)

Took my dog to a 22 acre "lake". Had one blow-up on my frog, but then the holiday crowds started showing up so we left. Try again next week. Lots of improvements to the lake being done,(new ramp and adding a restroom) so access roads were blocked, but no problem for a yakker. The 2x4 under my seat was a big comfort improvement also.

Sounds like a fun trip. This was the first weekend in a long time that my wife and I haven't spent in our Hobies! We opted to avoid the holiday crowds on the water and headed for the Sierra's to enjoy a weekend in the high country. I do kinda wish we had taken a couple rods with us though. We found a couple high mountain lakes/ponds at around 9000 feet elevation that were just loaded with brook trout and rainbows. Very few people went up that high which made it pretty nice!! We even got into some snow that was still hanging around!!

I wish we had access to some small bass ponds around the house that we could visit on holiday weekends!

I'm really excited for this one after the construction is done. Its 18 miles from home and the speed limit is 80 most of the way there. I can be there in 10 minutes and it has crappie, bass, bluegills, catfish, perch, and bullheads. I'll finally get to use that dog-food livewell.

Sounds like it doesn't get much better than that unless you built a house on the shoreline!!
