    Jumped in deep!

Well I'm now the owner of a well taken care of 17 puma, 250 xs.
Ran it all weekend. And just love it.
I now know, I know nothing about how to drive a bass boat and have much to learn.
I did manage to put it back on the trailer twice, safe and sound after multiple attempts at scaring myself and all takers at rides or driving themselves. I will be asking the previous owner for his input as I seem to be unable to get past 71 without going into chine walk... ooohhh hell territory.
Its my first hyd jack plate.

Good idea to have the previous owner help out. You'll learn that the key to driving 70+ is to prevent the chine walk by early, minor inputs to the steering while &/or trim. It only took me a few trips to get the hang of it so have fun!

Oh, I forgot to remind you to balance your load/tanks. It helps a lot!

Put the plate on 3. You got to learn to bounce "the wall" with the steering wheel. You'll feel it when you get over 70. Make very small steering adjustments back and forth ,,,,, you'll get used to it. Glad you like her

I am pretty busy with work right now otherwise I'd come over and help you drive it. Glad to have another BCB in GA! Chine walk is not that big of a deal. You will get it. Check out a couple of my threads on driving a Cougar. I got some good advice and can cruise at 76 with more to go!

Welcome to the BCB family! Put up pics when you can.
The chine is normal on all performance boats. There is a learning curve to driving/balancing the boat, before the chine starts.

Thanks for the posts. Ya I'm looking forward to the learning curve. I've had a few bass boats that touched 70mph..but all the fast boats I've had were v-drives drag boats..and I still have my 26 Howard cat (tunnel). I didn't get any good pictures yet but I will post as I take some. Did find a Howard picture or 2. I see if I can attach.

Thanks man..It's just sitting in the garage as I move my stuff in the new house. But I've had at least 25 complaments on it.
wish I had got the lift runners set on the boat floater before the movers showed up. So I could go for a quick ride. But I just ran out of time. But soon it's actually going to have a fishing rod back in it! And I hope to use it almost every day!

Ok got moved in the house..and got the boat lift kinda sorted out.I now have about 10hrs in the boat and about 25 wide open runs. I still find it a handful. Above 69 mph And stiff. But I'm learning. This evening I cruised for about 6 miles at 74.5 before I got lazy and it started eating me up. That was just me and 3/4 gas. Very little else in the boat. I put a cooler forward to add some bow weight.
sorry I'm still working on some good pics. I feel very proud to finally Owen a BASS CAT. I even took a hr to FISH! And not just drive around. Lol
