Oxon Cove - Closed??

Hey all - been a long time since I fished the Potomac. Hit it today out of Gravelly Point for the first time in years (literally). Went past Blue Plains to Oxon Cove but saw it was blocked off by booms on the water. When did this happen? Is it permanent? Caught my personal best bass in that Cove. Would hate to hear it's permanently closed to power boats!!

That must have been done recently, Heard they were extending no wake zones in the DC area. Maybe this is part of it. Hopefully somebody has more insight.

Maybe it is there to keep all the trash in. That cove has more trash than anywhere on the river. Let me ask one of the D.C. fisheries guys, they may know.
