Picked it up today. Seems to be in good shape! Test run in a day or two hopefully. Bumpedbmy prop up to a 21P Rev4. Haven't had DAH customize it yet.

Ran it today. Prop will need to be worked. Blows out on take off and about 2 seconds into it, there's some fairly decent vibration under the hull...then it dissipates. Think that's the prop?

If you're tucked all the way under then most likely the prop. I have no experience with the Rev4 model, but my Bravo has a bit of vibration to it when tucked.

Did you mess with the pvs plugs?

It was tucked all the way under. No vibration on a gradual take off. Grout - I totally forgot about plugs! They are all in on my other rev 4 but I never even thought to check with the new one! Can I just pop them out of my other prop? (Flathead screwdriver?)

I looked into selling the Vrod and going back to a 2 stroke but it would be pretty expensive I think (I'd need controls, a new steering wheel, etc) if I stayed with a merc it would be cheaper than going evinrude, obviously. I need to find someone who wants to swap lol!

Yep, pop them out with a regular screwdriver, paint can opener or needle nosed pliers.

i too have thought about swapping to another brand of motor, but the dang extra rigging cost is killer. Really hoping I can swing a new boat in a year or so and keep it until I die. Motor & re-rigging is almost half the cost of a new boat.

Yep! I was looking into a 1 year old ski team boat motor (lots around here) but rigging alone if I went Evinrude was almost 4k!

Might be tiny bit of difference in the lower unit venting, might need smaller plugs.
