Lowered the motor 1/2" roostertail is lower but still kinda high got boat up to 53 trimmed all the way tried lowering some lost speed 5600rpm. I did notice that seems like my prop is slipping maybe? Feels like it catches then slips. My motor had a hard time trying to take off like it wasn't getting had mad realized after I got home my primerball wouldn't get hard because it was level so I pointed it down and now it gets hard when you squeeze it could this make it feel like it's slipping?

Position shouldn't matter if it got firm after moving you probably have a pin hole in or near the bulb. And yes that will cause the slip feeling it's your motor losing fuel.

Slipping is usually a description of cavitating. Like spinning your wheels in your truck.
Bogging is like taking off in third, it's not happy doing that either.

Correct me if I'm wrong, because I'm no expert.
But a 22 raker on 175 HP motor at Full Throttle, full trim should slip and throw a giant rooster tail because it's not enough prop.
I bet if you can find a 24 raker and move the Jack Plate to 3.5" to start with, and adjust from there, you'll find more speed and lose some rooster tail.

Prop pitch would not affect rooster tail height.

I mentioned in a previous post that I have a 187cx with a 175hp yamaha. I am having the same issue running 50mph. I also have a prop with no info on it. I'm going to take it in and have the motor looked at. It runs smooth and has a great hole shot. I'll let you know what I find out.

If you are running a known setup, and you have a known good prop set at a reasonable motor height and barring anything crazy then you should expect reasonable results.
A 187 with 175 should expect 65 mph. If you aren't then it's just finding out why.

You may want to check this adjustment out on your motor. The adjustment applies to all 60* V-6 motors.
