My 2009 HPDI 250 dies when going into reverse from forward. Any guesses why?

It doesn't seem like a fuel issue. It seems like shifting, neutral switch is the problem. It never dies on plane or at moving speed

I believe mine is the lower of the 2 switches on the shift rail on the motor....will replace it in the spring. It's intermittent.

Alright...bought both switches. My friend has the Yamaha scan tool and last fall I trailered over to his house and we tested the switches and the shifting on the trailer, engine OFF. Followed the procedure. NO faults. But once in the water running the issues were there.

So I have not run the boat yet with the new switches. But take a look at the photo of an old one and a new one. The nub is worn way down on the old ones. I am suspecting this is the issue.

Will report back once on the water in about 2 weeks...

I have run the boat in the water for about 30 mins last Sunday. Ran awesome! Shifted between gears, never stalled.

A little more time this weekend and I will confirm that issues have been solved 100%!
