    Handling problems

Hello all, new to the group. I'm hoping for some advice on my boat setup. I have a 2001 Basstream 1750 with a 2001 2 stroke 90 Merc. The hull weight, from any info I can find, is 975 lbs. and rated for a 150 hp. I bought it a couple months ago and it has a 8" fixed jp. My question is, is this too much setback? When throttling out the hole it gets a little squirly and wants to lean to the port side until trimmed up. Would it handle better without the jp since it is underpowered? I changed the solas 21 pitch prop that was on it to a Quicksilver laser 2 20 pitch and it helped a little, but I'm out of ideas. Oh, and I've got the jp as low as it will go. Ventilation plate is 1½" above pad. Thanks

It's not rated for 150 hp probably 115. You need to measure your prop to pad and see what it is now, this thread will show you how. http://www.bbcboards.net/showthread.php?t=62660 Try to balance your load so the boat is setting level before you take off.
