    2005 Stratos 201 Pro XL DC 250EFI

Hey guys, I have a 2004 Stratos 201 PRO XL Merc 250 with a 6" Detwiler Hydraulic plate that currently has issues. I am about to change over to an Atlas Hydraulic. I have two questions. 1st any experiences running a 12". I run pretty heavy and looking to gain some more speed possibly with the extra 6" of plate. 2nd question does anyone know if the stock cables and hydraulic steering hoses have enough slack to accommodate a 12" plate.

    Thank you!

Stock cables going run you short . Think around 6 inches is the max on stock cables , 8 may be the max ?

I had a 2003 stratos 201 pro xl and I went from a 6" slidemaster to a 12" slidemaster and my hoses and cables were plenty long enough I didn't change none of that stuff. Now as far as speed I seen a about a 2-3 mph increase in speed and also the ride improved. It knocked all the chime walk out on my boat. I could run 74 mph with no chime walk. I had a 250 Yamaha though. I also seen a increase in fuel mileage as my prop was more efficient due to it being in cleaner water when running. I'm looking to put a new 10" bobs plate on my new 201XL to replace the 6" plate that's on my new boat.
