    Fishing Boots/Shoes

Looking for ideas for fishing boots that are comfortable, waterproof (for rainy days) and bass boat friendly. I typically wear tennis shoes or sandals during the summer but for late fall rainy days those shoes don't work out.

Vasque shoes have served me well for over a decade in conditions like you describe. I keep buying them every few years. I wear the old ones around the house for yard work etc... At 275 pounds I need a supportive shoe and these deliver. Vasque is a Red Wing company.

How is the arch support with those, kinda like a Muck boot?

I wear merrell moab waterproof shoes. Good shoe and breathes well, for colder weather I go with a slip on with no insulation and wool socks

The insole has an arch. Not too bad I guess.

Check out Keen shoes. Many styles to choose from and definitely bass boat friendly.

I have a pair like them in the Cabelas brand . They very warm , i worn them last yr in the snow and ice storm . You dont have to tie them up, just slip in and out and they are brown in color .

I use Timberland GoreTex shoes. They were kinda pricey, but they are 100% waterproof.....as long as my bibs "legs" are covering them. They are not boots, or even hightops....just regular shoes. They are very comfortable and very well made.

Buy the Bass Pro and if after a year you like them go a step up and get a pair of Mucks.

I wear tennis shoes. I keep a second pair in the boat if I get a pair wet. Costco tennis shoes are less than $20. Not into style.

Can't beat them Kirkland tennis shoes. Bought a pair for my brother and myself for $12.95 a pair. Still wearing my first pair from two years ago.

Merrell (with goretex)/Keen (with Keen Dry) hiking shoes are awesome. Waterproof, comfortable and don't kill your back. Lowa are way better than them but also you'd be paying $60 more

I wear my New Balance during the warmer months and SAS shoes when it starts to cool off. When it rains I put on a pair of Frogg Togg over shoes. They are easy to get on and off.

You might look into trail running shoes if you don't need insulation. Many of those are waterproof and wear like tennis shoes. Check out 6pm.com.

Here's a link for waterproof men's athletic shoes. http://www.6pm.com/waterproof-men-sn...o?t=waterproof. Several pairs of Keens on the first page of results with some going for north of 60% off retail.

That site is good for shoes in general, by the way. It's Zappos's overstock site, basically. Worth remembering! I needed some nicer shoes to wear with jeans last year and snagged a pair of Eccos for $55...MSRP was $180.

I use Tillamook Bay by Bogs. Comfortable, waterproof and would be somewhat easy to slip off if you ended up in the drink

Muck scrub boots.....about 6-7' tall. Fit great under rain pants or bibs. Very comfortable.
