I saw that similar cone one time when auto gain shot up in the 90 range for some reason.

I set it to manual and dropped it to about 82 and it was good again.

and i see in the latst update they addressed an auto gain issue

Thanks all. Have not heard back from Garmin in a couple weeks. Doubt they will be able to figure it out without having it on hand.

I know this thing has always worked fine on auto med. Not gonna turn it down. Not like it was always like this.

Absolutely no weeds in any of my lakes.

Being the 70dv is old out of warranty sucks too.

BTW I tried one click and two clicks down with no improvement.

My buddy has a 93sv and ps21. May try to swith out some components after the tourney Saturday.

I noticed when I was out yesterday my ps30 gets a lot of interference from the thermalcline in my lake. Almost unusable at or below the thermalcline but then again there aren't many fish below this anyhow. When I would move in shallower things cleaned up nicely.

Guess Garmin gave up on me. Havn't heard back in months. Sent them a reminder and guy replied "what unit do you have?"

    LOL, they are kidding, right?

Have you run your unit on the water with the recent update yet?

Curious if the cone area was better or maybe the performance was back to what you experienced originally?

Updated my "cone of death" thread and the cone was somewhat better in my case.

Although the cone was present sometimes, there were fewer ghost/blobs in the cone area.

Were able to compare to your friends 93sv/ps21 system?

    UGH!

That is a beauty for sure.

Excellent and strong "cone of death" within a very vibrant blob.

    Well done. LOL

Can't tell on the video but can you see if the "blob" forward range edge is the same as the depth directly under the boat at the left of the screen?
What was the forward range set to?

In reviewing various screen shots, it appears that is the case with my POS21.
The cone edge or blob forward edge equals the depth.

Man I sure wish I could help with this but I can't. Mine might do the same thing, I don't know. The only time I'm in 10 FOW is to launch or load the boat.
My wife asks if I'm going to fish every day. I can't fish every day. Some days I might be sick.

Monte, no doubt you have an issue. Have you been back in contact with the Support person assigned to this? Also, please verify you have the current 6.10 software loaded.

Another from same day if you want more. Surface clutter really bad here. Distance and depth are auto. Gonna try a different lake tomorrow. Ty all
