    Xpress Pad Work

Anyone ever done any pad work on a X19/X21? I have a pretty good size dent by the transom caused by the previous owner...Looks like he hit a stump or rock? I think it's causing me to lose some performance on top.

been some time ago that this was done but still on boat no issues at all.
small layers of bondo let dry sand add another until weld is completely covered down center of boat.
used ever coat to feather edges of the other area at back to smooth weld totally. again many layers of
material let dry add another. 3 days of this then added base clear paint.

Did you notice any improved performance or speed after the pad work? Or anything negative?

About 6 mph.had to raise jack plate up well over one inch.no negatives at all. Like a different boat. No one would be disappointed disappointed

Bondo will work but I would use small strand kitty hair and do final wipe with evercoat glazing putty the kitty hair is chopped up fiberglass and won't crack as easy as bondo will I fix wrecked cars for a living been using it since 86 with no problems

I'm fixing to have my pad worked. I will let everyone know how it goes. In the picture attached, everywhere there is blue tape, there is a significant weld bead.

I guess I had never thought about modifying the pad area? Is anyone running an X21? I was wondering what kinda top speed you can get?

Last time out with my X21...Two guys...Tournament loaded...Full tank of gas...Lithium batteries...75.3 mph @ 5950 with an Evinrude G2 250HO...27 pitch prop...Going to move up to a 28 as it cools...Hoping to get in the 77-78 mph range.

Thanks bassmaster. That is pretty good fully loaded. If you decide to do some work on the pad it would be interesting to see that improvement in top speed.

Hard to find someone who is willing to do the work for a reasonable price
