    Aluminum is tough to weld, but I would expect better looking beads from a guy that does it all day long. It looks like the pad work is a necessity. Not trying to be rude. Interested in the boats myself.

    I must of got a good one. The welds on my 01 are beautiful and I have gotten comments about it from a few guys that weld for a living. No cracks yet and I run it in some pretty rough conditions.

    How far up did you go with the bondo from transom? Getting ready to do mine and trying to get as much info as possible.
