    Steering

I hope this is a good area to post this question.

My steering for my 1989 Mercury 150 hp XR4 is really tight when I turn to go left but perfect when turning to the right. The steering wheel turns about 2 1/2 turns then feels like it binds and stops turning unless I crank it real hard. Only does this to the left. Any ideas what is causing this and what the best fix would be??? It is dual cable steering if that helps.

    Probably a bad cable
Speed cost money. How fast ya wanna go? I have done so much for so long with so little. I can now do the impossible with nothing!

Replace the steering helm and cables with new dual cable NFB steering. The lining wears out and the cables bind and will break.
